Îlot Sacré

A village in the historic heart of Brussels

The Îlot Sacré project won the MIPIM Award 2018 for« Best Residential Development »

Complex project result from the positive co-creation among members of a larger team. We wish to thank the people who, in addition to the design team, have helped us to optimize the project. In particularly, Alberto Zaccai, Bruno Corbisier, Marie Demanet, Jean-Pierre Majot et Eric Walravens. »

One hundred meters away from the Grand-Place, the Îlot Sacré project originates from the will to revive a well-known urban brownfield from back in the 60’s. The idea is to rehabilitate the network of historic streets in order to recreate a new friendly neighbourhood around the Rue du Marché aux Herbes.

Elegant without ostentation, the new set of 8 buildings offers shops, apartments, flats and individual houses with contemporary architecture. Quiet and well designed, the housing lots give prominence to the noble and traditional materials - white brick, blue stone, slate roofs - to reconnect with the quality that used to exist in the area. They also provide originally designed terraces, spacious and discreet, overlooking the rooftops of Brussels.
